Supatra Chowchuvech teaches Thai Language and Culture at the University of California, Berkeley’s Department of South and Southeast Asian Studies. She holds graduate degrees in Cultural Anthropology from the University of Pennsylvania, and in Psychology from the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. She co-authored “Thailand Fever”, a popular bi-lingual book which navigates cross-cultural personal relationships, and has been translated into three other European languages. Ms. Chowchuvech has conducted numerous workshops for Asian immigrant families on a variety of topics including intergenerational/intercultural issues. Besides English and Thai, Supatra is fluent in southern Thai dialect and Cantonese. She is a certified Thai legal interpreter, and has served as an expert witness in cases related to Thai culture. Ms. Chowchuvech grew up in Thailand and received her undergraduate degree in architecture at Chulalongkorn University before immigrating to the US.
