Prof. Munis Faruqui awarded a 2011 Hellman Grant
Professor Munis Faruqui has received a 2011 Hellman Family Faculty Fund grant. “The purpose of the Hellman Family Faculty Fund is to support substantially the research of promising assistant professors who show capacity for great distinction in their research.” He is the first DSSEAS recipient of the award since 1998. Prof. Faruqui’s extensive archival research on the Mughal Empire has so far been restricted to India. With this grant, he is hopeful that, provided the visa and security regime permits, he can go to Pakistan to extend his archival work on the Mughals.
