Hindi lecturer job search

The Department of South and Southeast Asian Studies at the University of California, Berkeley invites applications for appointment as full-time lecturer in Hindi. The appointment is for one year, renewable, and will begin on July 1, 2014. The appointee will be required to teach three undergraduate courses per semester, namely Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced Hindi, and to contribute to the long-term development of the Hindi program at Berkeley. The successful candidate will have advanced fluency and literacy in Hindi, and proficiency in English. The applicant must possess a BA degree or equivalent, from an accredited university.  An M.A. or Ph.D. degree in an appropriate field is desired, but not necessary. Candidates with a proven record of pedagogical innovation and teaching excellence are particularly encouraged to apply. The salary will be commensurate with teaching experience.  The deadline to apply is February 10th, 2014.
